Sept 1: WTF is Tarot?
A 10,000 ft view of the tarot, how to interpret a basic reading, and how to make this a Practice, and not just a hobby. We’ll talk a lot about hearing Your voice, about trusting you intuition, and learning to let go of “doing it right.”
Sept 8- Pentacles: the seeds of life
We begin our exploration of the minor arcana, beginning with the earthy sign of Pentacles. This suit teaches us about our practices, what they yield to us, and how we might yield to life. Pentacles cover issues of money and earthly possessions, but more than that, they speak about the quality of life we have, and whether we are finding contentment in the growth process, in the becoming.
Sept 15- Cups: the flow of emotions
In our third week, we cover the waters of the heart through the suit of Cups. What do our emotions have to tell us? How can we learn to navigate them, learn from them, care f or them? This week, we’ll go into deep end of the soul. (Pun totally intended.) Cups show us the capacity we have for Divine compassion, and how the love we have for our Self is the only love we can truly give.
Sept 22- Wands: the fire of creation
Fourth up are the Wands, showing us about how and why we focus upon what we do. What are doing? Why are you doing it? These two questions give rise to purpose. And purpose drives desire which drives creation, contrast, and movement. It is as much about work and profession. as it is about magic. This suit teaches us to handle our fire without getting burned.
Sept 29- Swords: the power of thought
In our final installment of the minor arcana, we explore the swords. The thoughts, the mind, the mental world where all manifestation begins. We are only ever acting out the stories we tell ourselves. and when we can use the sword of our True Mind to cut through the bullshit, we begin to get free. We learn that the distance between heaven and hell is just one thought.
Oct 6 - The Physical Arcana
After we have lived, we come to the spiritual journey we all must undertake. The first set of aracana talks about the people we meet, the duality of perceived sex and gender, or divine and secular, of teachers and student.
Oct 13 - The Spiritual Arcana
We move past right and wrong, we begin to see that this world isn’t just the physical things we see, but is made of forces that are working to sustain everything. We learn to ride the waves of Life. We learn to see things from new perspectives, integrating our practices into a lifestyle, and seeing beyond the binaries of life and death itself, and this moves us into oneness with the All, with God, with Self
Oct 20 - The Transcendent Arcana
The final gathering, we talk about how reaching the end is merely a cycle starting again. There is no end. We have lived before and we shall live again. How do we make peace with that which we cannot control? How to we realize that surrender to Life is the only thing that brings ultimate peace?
